Adoption Fee
Most pets are available for a $75-$150 adoption fee. Fees may vary, depending upon an animal's medical or special rehabilitative needs prior to adoption. Foster parents who decide to adopt an animal they have fostered must apply and pay for the animal in question.

Requirements

All adoptions are contingent on owners abiding by Travis County Animal Ordinances, including those prohibiting animals running loose, left on stake tie-outs and animal cruelty. Manor Animal Rescue will not hesitate to press charge against individuals who violate these rules. We will also call the Animal Control if we suspect animals are not up to date on city licenses or rabies vaccinations, as required by the City of Austin and State of Texas.

Policy on Outside Pets
We believe pets, including cats and kittens, need to live inside with their owners.  We do not adopt to people looking for outside-only pets.

Right of Final Refusal

Manor Animal Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption to any individual or family. In general, we screen for the following: veterinary responsibility; financial stability; secure fence and living quarters for the animal, with an absence of environmental predators and other inherent dangers; and commitment to the animal over time. With some exceptions, we do not adopt puppies or dogs to families with very young children.

Same Day Adoptions

We perform very few same-day adoptions. We encourage individuals and families to meet with our prospective adoptees more than once and perform at least one "meet and greet" among resident animals and the prospective family member prior to adoption.

Return Policy

Manor Animal Rescue stands behinds its animals. We will take back any animal and provide a full refund. However, families and individuals must agree to return adopted animals to Manor Animal Rescue in the event they decide not to keep him or her. They may not re-home the animal themselves.

Unsterilized Animals

Occasionally, Manor Animal Rescue animals are adopted intact (not spayed or neutered), usually due to youth or illness. Owners who choose these animals must pay a $50 sterilization deposit to Manor Animal Rescue. They must provide proof of sterilization to us within 6 months of adoption or risk immediate forfeit of his or her ownership.
